Dr. Abigail Bartlet, M.D., serves as the First Lady of the United States from 1999 to 2007. Dr. Bartlet is widely acknowledged as a world-class physician. She is the wife of President Josiah Bartlet and mother of Elizabeth Bartlet, Ellie Bartlet, and Zoey Bartlet.
Youth
Abbey met the young Josiah Bartlet while he was attending Notre Dame. However, University of Notre Dame would have been a men's school at the time, thus it is likely she attended Saint Mary's College, the prestigious sister institution across the street which has only become less selective since Notre Dame became coeducational.
