Andrew Jackson was President of the United States during the 1830s.
While President, Jackson liked to remain accessible to the public. One time, he placed a two-ton block of cheese in the main foyer of the White House and allowed guests to enter, eat from the cheese, and meet with the President about whatever they thought was important.
