After the near nuclear meltdown in San Andreo and Vinick's rapid slide in the polls, the Republican National Committee questioned her ability to run the campaign. Sheila recognized that the Republican Party needed a scapegoat and she offered herself up. Promising to continue as an informal consultant, she resigned and was replaced by Jane Braun. (The Cold)
