Senator Gianelli was an elderly Democratic senator in the 106th and 107th Congresses. He was a grandfather.[1]
In 2000, despite calls from the White House, Gianelli wouldn't change from his position on the ethanol tax credit.[2] In 2001, Gianelli assisted Howard Stackhouse by relieving him during the "Stackhouse filibuster."[3][4]
