Herbert Hoover was President of the United States from 1929 to 1933.
His administration was noted for having a very stable Cabinet.[1]
On October 23, 1929, Hoover was the first President to shake the hand of 9 year old Muriel Keith, who would go on to shake every President's hand up till Josiah Bartlet. The next day was the start of the Great Depression.[2]
The Hoover Dam was named for him.[3]
In July 2006, Vice Presidential candidate Leo McGarry made a joke implying he was old enough to be present during the Hoover administration.[4]
