Jennifer Lydell was the mother of Lowell Lydell and the wife of Jonathan Lydell. She wants Jonathan to be quiet, but he insists on speaking out against the United States treatment of homosexuals, and the lack of adequate government action and resolve to protect them.

Jennifer gives the impression of being exhausted by the relentless media coverage of her son's death, a chapter in her life which, much though she loved him and will continue to grieve, she needs to close.
