Mandy Hampton is a fictional character played by Moira Kelly on the television serial drama The West Wing. Mandy was the Media Director for the second year of the Bartlet presidency.

Professional life
Mandy was the media director for the Bartlet campaign. She left the campaign to work at Lennox Chase, a consulting firm before the election was over.
She would leave Lennox Chase after saving $500,000 to start her own consulting firm, and her only client would be Senator Lloyd Russell, who asked her to run his exploratory committee on challenging Bartlet for re-election in 2002. Her primary job was to research and document the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of the Bartlet administration, and map out a strategy for Russell's election.
In the second year of the Bartlet presidency, Josh Lyman offered her a consulting position as Media Director at the White House.
While working in the White House, her research for Senator Lloyd Russell was leaked to reporter Danny Concannon. The staff was very hostile with her, and it is assumed that she quit her job as Media Director because of the incident.
Education
She has a B.A. in art history, an M.A. in communications and a Ph.D. in political science.
Errata
Mandy's departure was never fully explained. Because of this, any character on The West Wing that stops appearing without explanation in an episode or in the series is said to be in Mandyville.
