Representative Matt Skinner (R-MD) works a member of Congress. Skinner identifies as a moderate Republican and is occasionally brought into meetings at the White House.

Career[]

Skinner, along with Gladman and Joe Willis, were viewed as the swing vote on an amendment to the appropriations bill, which would allow sampling in the census. He also voted with the White House on a banking bill and offers Leo McGarry congratulations when it becomes clear it is going to pass. He is later revealed to be gay in a meeting with Josh Lyman debating a gay marriage bill. Despite his sexuality, Skinner opposed the bill, not wanting to let being gay dictate his entire life. Although the homestate of Congressman Skinner is never revealed, he can articulate on Chesapeake Bay issues regarding marine life and fishing. Maryland and Virginia both surround the Chesapeake Bay area.
