Senator Max Lobell was a powerful member of the United States Senate and an occasional ally to President Josiah Bartlet.
Biography[]
Despite the fact that they had completely different views on most social issues, Lobell being a Republican and Bartlet being a Democrat, they agreed to work together to get candidates who supported campaign finance reform on the Federal Election Commission. Lobell was impressed by Bartlet only offering his gratitude in exchange for his support.
As the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee he was a member of the Gang of 8 that were notified by Leo McGarry and Admiral Percy Fitzwallace that the President may assassinate Abdul ibn Shareef.
