Missouri is one of the United States of America, located in the Midwestern United States, bordered by Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. It is the 18th most populous state, and comprises 114 counties and one independent city. Missouri's capital is Jefferson City. Missouri was originally acquired from France as part of the Louisiana Purchase and became defined as the Missouri Territory. Part of the Missouri Territory was admitted into the union as the 24th state on August 10, 1821.

Republican Glen Allen Walken was a Representative for this state's Sixth District from 1989 to 2003, when he resigned in order to become Acting President of the United States during the Zoey Bartlet kidnapping crisis.
