In relation to The West Wing
- Nixon's reelection in 1972 may have been one of the campaigns Bruno was referring to, when he was being interviewed for the Vinick Campaign, as one of the campaigns that won 49 states, not counting the District of Columbia which was won by his opponent George Mcgovern.
- Nixon's resignation is supposedly where the diversion in the series from reality in terms of timing of presidential elections in the series. Check out the Timeline for the full theory.
- Nixon is famous for being the only President to resign, although the events surrounding the Watergate scandal were only once referenced in the series, subtlely, when Will Bailey jokes that the White House hasn't been bugged "since the mid-'70s".
