Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) was the 40th. President of the United States from 1981-1989. Reagan served as Governor of California from 1967-1975 and ran unsuccessfully for the 1976 Republican presidential nomination against incumbent President Gerald Ford. In 1980, Reagan won the Republican nomination and with George H.W. Bush as his running-mate defeated incumbent President Jimmy Carter. Reagan was re-elected by a landslide in 1984 against former Vice President Walter Mondale, winning 49 states. Reagan also presided over the longest period of economic growth since the 1920s, surpassed only by Bill Clinton in the 1990s.

He was namesake of the Ronald Reagan Institute of Emergency Medicine at George Washington University Hospital. ("In the Shadow of Two Gunmen - Part I")

Reagan served as the basis for the character of Owen Lassiter.
