Uh... whoever thinks we know of a Vice-President Richards that was Bartlet's oppononent in 1998... this is not true.

Richards[]

I left a listing for him on the Vice President of the United States page because of the description of him as President Bartlet's opponent on that page. This brings up one concern I have about this wiki in general: there are very few links or even parenthetical mentions to the episodes of the show in which facts are substantiated. Perhaps someone has heard a description of someone named Richards on the show, but because there was no episode reference there, it is tough to check facts. --Mtphillips

I agree. We must be more consistent making episode references, everywhere. Peter R 14:45, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)

I don't know that we necessarilly need to constantly reference episode numbers, that might become tedious. But when something is blatantly untrue. We hardly know anything about President Lassiter and for some reason we'd know his VP and know that this was who Bartlet ran against? We can just... categorically remove it and move on, right?

In all my findings there has been only one "Richards" mentioned in The West Wing: "Ellen Swallow Richards, the first woman to be a professional chemist," by Bartlet in And It's Surely to Their Credit. There's also a mention of various "Richards" (kings named Richard) by Bartlet in regards to the "War of the Roses" in Posse Comitatus. As far as I can find, there has been no other mention of the word "Richards" on West Wing whatsoever. Now Ritchie on the other hand...--Tim Thomason 19:13, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
